Urban Living
Downtown Durham is home to an array of excellent restaurants, shopping and cultural destinations.
Living downtown not only means a shorter commute, but also greater opportunity to experience everything the city has to offer. Downtown Durham has grown tremendously over the past few years. No longer the old tobacco town, Durham is now home to the Durham Bulls baseball team, the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), the Nasher Museum along with too many excellent restaurants to count.
Downtown Chapel Hill, while slightly less metropolitan than downtown Durham, offers a quaint setting close to the university. Downtown Chapel Hill, along with neighboring Carrboro, offers a wide variety of culinary and cultural experiences. The downtown area has a rich music scene with venues like Local 506, Cat’s Cradle, and Memorial Hall on UNC Chapel Hill’s Campus that showcase everything from local bands to symphony orchestras.
