My route to a career in real estate in Chapel Hill and Durham, North Carolina, has been a great adventure. It has taken me from London, England, where I was born and raised, to France, Germany, Lebanon, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Portugal and to Hong Kong where my two lovely children were born. I moved with my family to Chapel Hill 29 years ago and have lived in the Triangle area ever since. I am now a resident of Durham and really enjoy all the great restaurants, festivals and cultural activities that this fast-changing city has to offer.

I traveled extensively in Europe growing up, majored in French and business in college and learned Spanish, German and Portuguese along the way; travel and languages became a lifelong passion. I worked for Citibank’s international public affairs division in London and later was transferred to the Middle East and then Asia. While living abroad I became skilled at adapting to each city and country and learned to make everything from a small new house in a compound in Riyadh to a large historic house in Hong Kong into a home. It was always a thrill, but also stressful, to move from one completely different culture to another and the move to the pace of life in the southern U.S. from vibrant, bustling, noisy Hong Kong was no different. I therefore understand very well how challenging it can be to relocate, whether it is within a city or across the world and I look forward to assisting my clients to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

The higher education opportunities in our area are among the best in the world and I have been fortunate to earn degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and from North Carolina State University. I have worked in the field of international education first at Carolina and more recently at Duke University so I have experience with each of the three major research universities and understand the real estate needs of the academic community.

I look forward to welcoming clients moving here from all over the world, including other parts of the States, and assisting them to find a new home in Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh and to serving local clients with all their real estate needs. I am delighted to be part of a great team of real estate professionals at Peak Swirles & Cavallito Properties.
