What sets me apart from a lot of real estate agents? Real estate has been a lifelong passion, not just a job or a way to make quick money (as many mistakenly think). I think that passion stems from a combination of having changed houses four times by the age of six and my interest in building and furnishing miniature dollhouses. By the time I was 12, I had already decided the best way for me to pursue my dream of working with houses was to become a real estate agent and, by age 17, I was working as in an intern in a small real estate firm.
I was born in Danville, Virginia, and educated in the Danville Public Schools before moving to Durham in 1992, where I graduated from Riverside High School in 1993. I enrolled in the College Transfer Program at Durham Technical Community College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English, Class of 1998. From 1999 until 2017, I was employed in various positions from administrative assistant to technical writer to project manager. But my interest in real estate never wavered. In 1999, I received my North Carolina Real Estate Salesman license. Though employment opportunities took me in many directions, I decided to finally pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a real estate agent. I enrolled in real estate school again and, in 2017, became a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker. I’ve never looked back.
In addition to real estate, I have a few other interests. I am a supporter of Duke University Chapel, the Animal Protection Society of Durham, the Georgia English Bulldog Rescue, the North Carolina Writer’s Network, and WCPE Classical Radio. I also enjoy a wide range of music, from Tina Turner to Johann Sebastian Bach.
Whether you are looking to buy or sell real estate, my goal is to offer you exemplary service and to make the process as stress-free as possible.
